JSP eligibility and when to claim
Customers must declare as soon as possible online through the Services Australia site.
To receive JSP an individual must:
- be of qualifying age for JSP
- satisfy Australian residence requirements for JSP
- be out of work, and
- searching for work and happy to take part in activities that increase their possibilities of discovering a task, or
- unable to work, study or try to find work due to medical condition, illness or injury, or

Disability Support Payment (DSP) sus/can RTW consumers claiming JSP
